How this is calculated

The standard high-school weighting bumps the grade-point value by:

Honors: +0.5 (so A in Honors = 4.5)
AP / IB: +1.0 (so A in AP = 5.0)
F stays 0.0 in any bracket.

Both unweighted and weighted GPA are reported because most colleges recalculate to their own scale during admissions review.
